Amy identifies as an Intersectional Human, as she is of mixed Mi'kmaw-Irish-Jewish heritage, has physical and learning disabilities, and is part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Despite experiencing multiple marginalizations, Amy is proud of the complex identity that gives her a unique perspective on life and allows her to see the world through a compassionate lens.

Along her educational journey, Amy obtained a Bachelor of Public Relations (BPR) from Mount Saint Vincent University ('16). She is currently enrolled in a Master of Arts in Communications program and is completing her thesis on (Mis)Representations of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) in the News Media ('23). Amy also speaks French and was an Erasmus (exchange student) in Lille, Nord-Pas de Calais, France, during the third year of her BPR program.

In her professional life, Amy is the Systems Change & Community Engagement Lead at Origin LC. She works with clients from various backgrounds to help inspire ethical leadership through inclusion, diversity, equity, & accessibility (IDEA). These projects are a small step for organizations to create a sense of belonging within their workplaces, foster authentic connections with all our relations, and become leaders in (re)building sustainable communities.
